Prior to launching her freelance writing career, she spent ten years in marketing and editorial in the book publishing industry at Ballantine, The Random House Trade Group, Bloomsbury, and Hyperion Books, where she was Assistant Director of Marketing. Joni holds a masters degree from Cambridge University and currently resides in London, England.
Shannon’s work has appeared in National Geographic Traveler, Arrive, Continental, France Today, The New York Daily News, The Miami Herald, and other magazines, newspapers, and websites, and she is a regular contributor to the book industry news publication Shelf Awareness (www.shelf-awareness.com). Prior to freelancing she spent ten years working in marketing for various publishers, including Penguin USA, Hyperion Books, and Simon & Schuster. In April 2010, Shannon set out to travel the U.S. in an RV with her husband for several years. After exploring Texas, she plans to store the R.V. for a couple of months and head to Belize and Guatemala.
